Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking skilled and dedicated Social Workers to join their Care Planning Team. This vital role focuses on delivering high-quality, child-focused statutory social work to children and young people subject to care proceedings or long-term care plans. The successful candidate will be passionate about achieving permanence and positive outcomes for children in care.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of children in care, progressing plans for permanence, reunification, or adoption as appropriate.

Complete robust assessments, permanency planning reports, and court statements in line with statutory timescales.

Work in partnership with families, carers, legal representatives, and multi-agency professionals to implement and review care plans.

Attend and contribute to court hearings, LAC reviews, permanency panels, and other statutory meetings.
-
Ensure timely and accurate recording of all casework and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, including the Children Act 1989.
