Job Overview
An Occupational Therapist is required to start as soon as possible to support inpatient services within a busy acute hospital setting. The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy interventions to support patient flow and safe, timely discharge.
The role is suitable for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, however experienced Band 5 candidates will also be considered.
Clinical Areas
The role will primarily cover:

- Healthcare of Older People (HCOP)
- General Medicine
There may also be opportunities to support:
-
- Admission Avoidance
- Trauma & Orthopaedics (T&O)
- Stroke
- Rehabilitation
Key Responsibilities
-
- Undertake occupational therapy assessments for acute inpatient caseloads
- Develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Facilitate effective discharge planning and coordination
- Support patient flow within the acute hospital environment
- Provide routine acute occupational therapy interventions
- Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Skills & Experience
-
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Experience working in an acute hospital setting
- Confidence with assessment, treatment planning, and discharge facilitation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
Full time preferred, part-time hours considered
