Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a committed and experienced Child Protection Social Worker to join our Children’s Services safeguarding team. The role requires safeguarding children at risk of significant harm, conducting timely assessments, and working collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to promote safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct statutory child protection assessments and Section 47 enquiries in line with the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).

Develop and implement child protection plans and risk management strategies, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all decisions.

Participate in child protection conferences, core groups, strategy meetings, and court proceedings as required.

Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports in compliance with Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s policies and statutory requirements.
