Contract Length: Ongoing (Up to 6 months initially)
Job Details: Principal Occupational Therapist required to start ASAP for up to 6 months. This is a senior leadership role across Adult Social Care and Children’s Services. Hybrid working available with an expectation of office presence a couple of days per week.

- Lead the strategic development of Occupational Therapy across Adults and Children’s Services
- Ensure OT delivers its full potential within adult care, improving outcomes through prevention and strengths-based, person-centred approaches
- Embed Occupational Therapy practice within the Adult Social Care target operating model
- Work closely with Heads of Service, Service Managers and operational teams to drive service improvement and transformational change
- Provide leadership oversight for OT delivery, carers support and workforce development
- Influence, challenge and support colleagues at all levels while maintaining high standards of governance and quality
Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic and Operational Leadership: Lead strategic development of OT services and maximise the impact of OT pathways across adults and children’s services
- Service and Organisational Transformation: Support delivery of the Adult Social Care transformation programme and lead service redesign and pathway improvements
- Professional Practice Leadership: Maintain high standards through governance, audit and quality assurance, promoting a strengths-based and preventative culture
- Workforce Leadership and Development: Support Team Managers, influence workforce planning, and promote a high performing and inclusive culture
- Performance and Resource Management: Use performance data to drive quality improvements, contribute to budget management and ensure statutory and safeguarding responsibilities are met
- Develop systems across adults, children and housing to assess and report on the quality of OT practice and service delivery
- Drive workforce strategy under the direction of the Principal Social Worker, championing CPD, wellbeing and workforce sustainability
- Lead development of new service models for carers, ensuring inclusive, responsive and co-produced services
Skills / Experience:

- Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification (DipCOT, BSc or equivalent)
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant experience within Social Care OT, including management or supervisory responsibilities
- Proven ability to lead service improvements and support organisational change
- Strong project management, analytical and organisational skills
- Experience working with senior leaders, multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies
- Ability to influence, guide and support teams through transformation
