Job details: Independent Living Team. Therapy team currently require Occupational Therapists on a short-term basis. The dynamic and responsive team work closely alongside colleagues in community social work and reablement services to provide a streamlined and quality customer journey. Self-motivated candidates required who are organised with effective communication skills both written and verbally. Part of the daily role will be completing assessments both in service users’ homes to help promote and maximise the service users independence, and virtually by the use of programs such as Microsoft Teams. JD available on request. Responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out Occupational Therapy assessments for vulnerable adults throughout the borough.
• Assessing for the provision of equipment as well as minor and major adaptations.
• Working closely with the social work colleagues, other agencies & professionals.
• To provide a service that flexibly meets the needs of service users within budgetary constraints.
• To demonstrate and observe the use of equipment, adaptations and assisted technology.
• Clinical Supervision: Access to regular clinical supervision and support in undertaking this role.
This role is Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in office, to cover the Duty Service (need to be in for 1 full week every 6 weeks), and candidates will need their own vehicle and the ability to travel around the borough.
Flexible Hours: The Therapy Team currently work during standard business hours, these hours are 9.00 – 17.30 Monday to Thursday and 9:00 – 17:00 on Friday (37 hours per week).
Skills/experience: BSC or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, along with HCPC Registration. Must have major adaptations experience. Manual handling required. Must be 2+ years qualified.
