Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 5 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within South East London NHS. This position is based within a hospital ward setting, supporting patients through assessment and rehabilitation.
The Occupational Therapist will assess patients’ occupational performance, identifying needs and supporting interventions to improve functional ability and independence. The role focuses on delivering patient-centred care within an acute ward environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess occupational performance of patients within the ward setting.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to support independence and recovery.
- Support discharge planning and safe transitions from hospital.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Provide advice and support to patients, families, and carers.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience or interest in
acute hospital settings. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the
ability to assess and support patients with a range of needs.
You will be confident working within a multidisciplinary team and supporting patient recovery and
discharge planning.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within NHS or acute settings desirable.
- Ability to assess occupational performance and deliver interventions.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 5

- Contract Type: Locum
- Contract Length: Ongoing
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
- Salary: Negotiable
