Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Liverpool City Council Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on supporting adults with care and support needs, undertaking assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and delivering interventions that promote independence and wellbeing.
You will manage a varied caseload, provide expert advice, and work collaboratively with individuals, carers, and partner agencies to deliver positive, person-centred outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Manage safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory responsibilities.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and support best-interest decisions.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work directly with adults, families, and carers to promote independence and wellbeing.
Collaborate with health professionals, housing, and voluntary organisations to provide integrated support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with legislation and council policies.
Take part in reflective supervision, peer learning, and service improvement initiatives.
About You
You are a resilient and motivated social worker with post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are confident in assessment and safeguarding practice, skilled at managing complex cases, and committed to supporting service users to live independently and safely.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively.
