Job Overview
We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join the **Liverpool City Council Children’s Services team**. In this role, you will work to safeguard children, support families, and deliver high-quality social work practice that improves safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes.
You will manage a varied caseload, undertake statutory assessments, and work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to provide effective support and interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risk, need, and protective factors.
Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans for children and families.
Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory guidance.
Prepare and present evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.
Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and carers.
Work closely with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary organisations to deliver joined-up support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with legislation and Liverpool City Council policies.
Take part in reflective supervision, team learning, and service improvement initiatives.
About You
You are a resilient and motivated social worker with experience in children’s services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, skilled at managing complex cases, and committed to ensuring the best outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Experience working within Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a complex and varied caseload effectively.
