Job Title: Band 5 Locum Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a qualified and motivated Pharmacy Technician with NHS experience to join our pharmacy team in Aintree.
  • The post holder will contribute to the provision of a safe, effective, and efficient pharmacy service, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and medicines management across the department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dispense, prepare, and supply medicines in line with legal and professional standards.
  • Support the clinical pharmacy team in providing accurate and timely pharmaceutical advice.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and distribution of medicines within the department.
  • Assist in the implementation of safe systems for the storage and handling of medicines.
  • Participate in clinical audits, service evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with NHS and GPhC requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients and healthcare staff regarding the safe use of medicines.
  • Contribute to training and mentoring of junior staff or apprentices as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • NHS experience in a hospital or primary care setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent qualification).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
