Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

 

Location: Merseyside NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Merseyside NHS community team on an ongoing locum basis. This role offers an immediate start, supporting patients across the local area through tailored assessment and intervention plans that promote independence and recovery.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal caseload of community-based patients, delivering high-quality occupational therapy interventions.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individual therapy plans to meet patient needs and goals.

  • Oversee and delegate work appropriately to therapy assistants, ensuring effective implementation of care plans.

  • Travel within the community to deliver patient-centred care across a range of home and clinical settings.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS and HCPC standards.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to support integrated care and optimal patient outcomes.

     

    Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Previous experience working within a community or NHS setting.

  • Ability to independently manage caseloads and supervise support staff.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and clinical reasoning skills.

     

    Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (flexibility considered for 08:30 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:00).
