Job details: Skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist required to start asap for Moving & Handling Services. This role involves delivering essential community-based assessments and interventions for individuals requiring moving and handling support to promote independence, safety, and well-being.
- Conduct community assessments in a local authority setting, identifying needs and recommending both standard and specialist equipment for moving and handling.
- Perform comprehensive moving and handling assessments, ensuring safe practices and compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Collaborate with residents, families, and other professionals to create individualised support plans focused on safe mobility and handling.
- To assess and demonstrate single handed solutions to meeting handling needs in a community setting.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records in line with professional and legal standards.
- Provide demonstration and instruction to formal and informal care providers on the safe moving and handling practice and use of equipment provided from the outcome of the assessment.
Skills/experience: HCPC registration and relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy. Demonstrated experience working within a local authority setting. Proficiency in completing moving and handling assessments. Strong knowledge of equipment provision and home adaptation processes. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Working hours: Full time.
