Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting three Occupational Therapists for locum roles within Lancashire Social Services. These positions focus on delivering community-based assessments and interventions, supporting individuals to maintain independence and improve wellbeing within their own homes.
The Occupational Therapists will assess needs and recommend appropriate equipment and adaptations, including both minor and major works. The role involves working collaboratively with service users, families, and professionals to deliver person-centred solutions that promote safe and independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments within community and local authority settings.
- Identify needs and recommend standard and specialist equipment.
- Assess for and facilitate minor and major adaptations to support independent living.
- Undertake manual handling assessments and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Develop and implement person-centred support plans.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and legal standards.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in
local authority or community social care settings. You will demonstrate strong clinical
reasoning skills and the ability to deliver practical solutions that promote independence.
You will be confident managing a caseload independently while working collaboratively with colleagues
and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working within a local authority setting.
- Experience in equipment provision and home adaptations.
- Experience undertaking manual handling assessments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
