View JobWe are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Medway Council’s Fostering Team on a locum basis. This role involves assessing, supporting, and supervising foster carers to ensure safe, nurturing, and stable placements for children and young people. The successful candidate will have strong assessment skills, knowledge of fostering regulations, and experience working closely with carers, children, and multi-agency professionals.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Form F assessments of prospective foster carers in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to approved foster carers.

Monitor placements to ensure the safety, stability, and well-being of children in foster care.

Work collaboratively with children’s social workers, health, and education professionals to support positive outcomes.

Prepare high-quality reports for fostering panels and other statutory meetings.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of all casework in accordance with policies and procedures.
