Job Title: Band 6 Multidisciplinary Pathway Worker – Kent CYPMHS

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Multidisciplinary Pathway Worker to join the Kent CYPMHS Thanet team. The role focuses on conducting initial assessments, covering duty responsibilities, and reducing waiting times by undertaking clinical harm reviews for young people awaiting treatment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments for young people accessing mental health services.
  • Cover duty shifts, ensuring the timely response to urgent cases.
  • Perform clinical harm reviews for those waiting to begin treatment.
  • Lead risk assessments and devise comprehensive safety plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Present cases to the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) for discussion and collaborative formulation of treatment plans.
  • Support efforts to reduce waiting times and improve the efficiency of service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Experience working in a Child and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS).
  • Previous experience working within a duty team setting.
  • Proficient in risk assessments and safety planning for young people in mental health services.
  • Competent in using IT systems for record-keeping and case management.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong communication skills for working with families, young people, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage urgent cases effectively.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and collaborative planning approaches.
