Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an Inpatient RMN to work a variety of block bookings in North East London
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with acute or enduring mental health conditions within an inpatient setting, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients’ mental health, physical health, and social needs, and contribute to the formulation of personalised care plans.
- Administer medication safely and effectively in line with legal frameworks, including controlled drugs, and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in mental or physical health.
- Undertake regular risk assessments for all patients, identifying and managing potential risks, including self-harm, aggression, or deterioration in mental state.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure that care is holistic and meets patients’ needs.
- Support patients in developing coping mechanisms and strategies for managing their mental health conditions, fostering recovery and preparation for discharge.
- Manage the admission and discharge process, ensuring all necessary documentation, assessments, and care plans are completed accurately and timely.
- Monitor and document patient progress through detailed and accurate record-keeping, ensuring that care plans are regularly reviewed and updated in collaboration with the wider team.
- Work within the legal frameworks of the Mental Health Act 1983, ensuring that patients’ rights are protected, and appropriate care is provided to those under section.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults, ensuring that any concerns are raised in accordance with legal and organisational procedures.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment on the ward, ensuring that standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control are upheld.
- Offer emotional support to families and carers, involving them where appropriate in the care planning and treatment process.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or deteriorating patients, escalating concerns to senior staff when necessary.
- Contribute to shift handovers and ensure clear communication between team members to promote continuity of care.
Position Details:
Work Pattern: 12 hours shifts, 7 days a week, Days & Nights
Duration: Initially 3 months likely to be extended further
Umbrella Rate: Weekday £21.11 Saturday/Nights £27.85 Sundays/BH £30.58
Pay Type: Umbrella or PAYE available
Requirements:
- Valid Nursing NMC Pin
