View JobLambeth Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Locum Team Manager to lead and oversee frontline children’s social work teams. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, supervision, and quality assurance to ensure the delivery of effective child protection, safeguarding, and care planning services. This is a critical leadership role requiring strong management skills, in-depth knowledge of statutory frameworks, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision to a team of social workers delivering safeguarding, child in need, and child protection services.

Oversee allocation of work, monitor performance, and ensure timely progression of cases in line with statutory timescales.

Drive practice improvement and ensure compliance with legislation, local policies, and Ofsted standards.

Support staff development through regular supervision, reflective practice, and coaching.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including legal services, health, education, and police, to ensure coordinated multi-agency responses.

Monitor caseloads, audit casework, and contribute to service development and inspection readiness.
