View JobThe Child Protection Chair plays a crucial role in safeguarding children by overseeing child protection conferences and ensuring that all procedures are followed in accordance with statutory guidelines. This position requires a high level of expertise in child protection and the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Chairing Conferences: Lead initial and review child protection conferences for vulnerable children and young people, ensuring compliance with the Children Act and safeguarding protocols
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and review the effectiveness of child protection plans, providing constructive feedback and challenging poor practices to improve outcomes for children
- Collaboration: Work closely with social workers, team managers, and external agencies to coordinate efforts and ensure comprehensive protection strategies
- Reporting and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of conference decisions and child protection plans, maintaining professional records and producing reports for senior management
