View JobBrent Council is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children in Need (CIN) Assessment team on a locum basis. This role involves leading complex assessments and supporting less experienced colleagues, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable children and families are thoroughly assessed and appropriately addressed.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake complex assessments of children and families under CIN and safeguarding procedures

Lead on planning and implementing effective interventions in line with statutory requirements
-
Support and mentor junior social workers, offering guidance on best practices and case direction
-
Contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and case conferences as required
-
Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings, reviews, and panel presentations
-
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote the safety and well-being of children
Requirements:
-
SWE registration
-
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s statutory social work
-
Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
-
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks
