Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North London Social Services. This position sits within the North Locality Occupational Therapy Team, supporting adults through assessments, equipment provision, and adaptations to promote independence and safety within the home environment.
The Occupational Therapist will carry out functional and cognitive assessments, complete Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) documentation, and provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications. The role also involves triaging referrals and supporting residents and carers with equipment training and safe handling practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments within community and social care settings.
- Complete Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) assessments, reviews, and modification justifications.
- Conduct cognitive and functional assessments to identify residents’ needs.
- Prescribe adaptive equipment to improve independence and safety.
- Provide training and guidance to residents and caregivers on safe equipment use.
- Undertake triage calls and determine appropriate referrals or signposting.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory and professional standards.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
social care services. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the
ability to support individuals through equipment provision and adaptation processes.
You will be confident managing a caseload independently while delivering person-centred interventions
that promote independence and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working within social care services.
- Experience with DFG assessments, equipment provision, and adaptations.
- Ability to complete cognitive and functional assessments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
