Brief Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join the Adults Social Care Team in Redbridge Council on a locum basis. In this role, you will support adults with complex needs, carrying out assessments, developing care plans, and promoting independence and wellbeing. You’ll be part of a collaborative, person-centred service focused on empowering individuals to live safely and confidently in their communities.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act assessments, mental capacity assessments, and safeguarding enquiries

Develop and review personalised care and support plans in line with legislation and policy
-
Work closely with service users, carers, health professionals, and external agencies
-
Manage a caseload effectively, prioritising work to meet statutory timescales and local procedures
-
Promote independence, choice, and wellbeing for adults through strengths-based practice
-
Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service development within the Adults Team
About You
-
You are a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (SWE)
-
You have proven experience in adult social care, including assessment and care management
-
You are confident working with older people, adults with disabilities, or those with mental health needs
-
You have strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, person-centred approach
Requirements
-
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
-
Current registration with Social Work England (SWE)
-
Previous local authority experience within Adults Services
-
Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding procedures
-
Ability to work independently and manage competing demands

Car driver with access to a vehicle preferred
