Tripod Partners are recruiting two Paediatric Occupational Therapists for locum roles within Central London NHS. These positions sit within Children’s Therapies services, focusing on assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0–19 years, including those requiring support through Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The Occupational Therapist will deliver assessments, reports, and targeted interventions, supporting children with functional needs across home and school environments. The role involves working closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to provide advice, develop programmes, and support positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments for children and young people aged 0–19 years.
- Complete functional assessments and contribute to EHCP processes, including report writing.
- Develop and deliver home and school-based therapy programmes.
- Provide up to four intervention sessions per child where appropriate.
- Support and empower parents, carers, and education staff with advice and guidance.
- Undertake follow-up assessments and reviews to monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation including reports and clinical records.
- Manage a structured caseload with a mix of initial assessments and follow-up appointments.
About You
You will be a qualified Paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience working within
children’s therapy services. You will be confident undertaking assessments, writing reports for EHCPs, and
delivering interventions within both home and school settings.
You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, the ability to manage a structured caseload, and
confidence working collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working within paediatric occupational therapy services.
- Experience contributing to EHCP assessments and report writing.
- Children’s safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Contract & Salary
- Role: Paediatric Occupational Therapist (2 roles)
- Sector: Central London NHS
- Contract Type: Locum
- Contract Length: Initially 12 weeks (ongoing potential)
- Working Pattern: Weekdays, 5 days per week (Monday and Friday preferred)
- Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch, flexibility may be considered)
- Salary: Negotiable
