Speech and Language Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (initial 7 weeks)

 

About the Role

 

An experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist is required to join the Adult SLT Service within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This is an autonomous community-based role delivering specialist speech and language therapy across a range of settings.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the development and delivery of specialist Speech & Language Therapy services within the Adult SLT team.
  • Work autonomously to assess, treat and support adults with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Provide SLT services within community outpatient clinics, service users’ own homes, residential homes and nursing homes.
  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders to demonstrate service effectiveness, including contributing to audit activity.
  • Work collaboratively within the MDT, accessing appropriate professional supervision and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.

 

Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with adult caseloads.
  • Ability to work autonomously in community settings.
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning and MDT working skills.

 

Working Hours

 

  • 37.5 hours per week.
