Senior Occupational Therapist – Band 6

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting two Senior Occupational Therapists – Band 6 for locum roles within South London NHS. These positions offer the opportunity to work within acute therapy services, managing complex caseloads and supporting the ongoing development of therapy teams and services.

The Senior Occupational Therapists will provide evidence-based, client-centred interventions, supervise junior staff and students, and contribute to service improvement initiatives within designated therapy teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs using evidence-based and client-centred approaches.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions.
• Provide leadership, supervision, competency support, and appraisals for junior staff.
• Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of therapy services.
• Contribute to service improvement projects and the ongoing development of therapy services.
• Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on placement.
• Participate in rotational working arrangements as directed by management.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong 
acute hospital experience across a range of clinical areas, excluding neurology. 
You will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning skills and the ability to manage complex caseloads independently.

You will be confident supervising junior staff and students while contributing positively to service 
development and multidisciplinary team working.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Demonstrable acute hospital experience (essential).
• Experience managing complex caseloads within acute settings.
• Experience supervising junior staff and/or students.
• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to start ASAP.
