Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within North East London NHS. Based at Harold Wood Polyclinic, part of NELFT, this role offers the opportunity to manage a varied musculoskeletal caseload within a busy outpatient service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, providing evidence-based treatment plans and making appropriate onward referrals where required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MSK Physiotherapist with previous NHS experience and proficiency using the RIO clinical system.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of patients presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Carry out comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and formulate accurate clinical diagnoses.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Provide advice, education, and self-management strategies to support patient recovery.
• Make appropriate onward referrals to other healthcare professionals and specialist services where required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the RIO electronic patient record system.
• Complete all associated clinical administration in accordance with NHS and HCPC standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, GPs, consultants, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Contribute to the delivery of a safe, effective, and patient-centred musculoskeletal physiotherapy service.

About You

You will be an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a strong background in assessing and treating a wide range of MSK conditions within an NHS setting. You will be confident managing your own caseload and delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.

Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills are essential, together with experience using the RIO clinical system and holding a valid NHS Smartcard.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Significant experience as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
• Previous NHS experience.
• Essential experience using the RIO electronic patient record system.
• NHS Smartcard.
• Experience using NHS e-Referrals is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent using Microsoft Excel and standard clinical IT systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy outpatient caseload.
