Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North East London Social Services. This position sits within a locality-based multidisciplinary team, supporting Discharge to Assess (D2A) pathways across the service.
The Occupational Therapist will manage a varied caseload of complex and standard cases, delivering holistic, person-centred assessments and interventions. The role focuses on supporting safe discharge, promoting independence, and ensuring effective use of equipment and adaptations within community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out complex occupational therapy assessments and support planning.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 4 cases per week, including complex cases.
- Support Discharge to Assess (D2A) referrals across locality clusters.
- Assess and recommend specialist equipment, seating, and adaptations.
- Undertake moving and handling assessments and provide safe practice guidance.
- Provide training and advice to service users and carers on safe equipment use.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records and documentation.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in
adult social care, including complex assessments, equipment provision, and adaptations.
You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to manage complex cases independently.
You will be confident working within multidisciplinary teams and applying a person-centred approach to
support individuals in achieving safe and effective outcomes.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Extensive knowledge of specialist equipment, adaptations, and manual handling.
- Experience undertaking complex, holistic occupational therapy assessments.
- Knowledge of social care legislation and housing frameworks.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a complex caseload independently.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organisational skills.
