Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity with NELFT, based at Vicarage Fields Health Centre, supporting services across Havering, Barking and Dagenham. Working within the North East London NHS, you will provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation for patients with stroke and a wide range of neurological conditions in both community and home settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary Stroke and Neurology team, delivering evidence-based rehabilitation programmes that maximise independence, improve functional outcomes, and enhance quality of life. You will manage a complex caseload while supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the delivery of high-quality community neurological rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of patients with stroke and neurological conditions across community and home settings.
• Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessments using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
• Develop and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes to improve mobility, function, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Work across boroughs as required to provide responsive community rehabilitation services.
• Carry out home visits and community-based assessments where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centred care.
• Provide clinical support, supervision, and guidance to junior staff and students where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
• Promote safe discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation within community settings.
• Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

About You

You will be a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with experience working in stroke rehabilitation and/or neurological physiotherapy. You will be confident managing complex patients independently while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will possess excellent assessment, rehabilitation, communication, and clinical reasoning skills, together with a patient-centred approach to supporting individuals with complex neurological needs.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience in stroke rehabilitation and/or neurological physiotherapy.
• Experience managing complex neurological caseloads within community or rehabilitation settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as home visits across the community are required.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation.
