Lead and oversee the delivery of safeguarding services within children’s or adults’ social care, ensuring high-quality, timely, and effective protection for vulnerable individuals across the locality.

Provide strategic leadership in line with statutory frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014), embedding best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams.

Manage and develop multi-disciplinary safeguarding teams, fostering a culture of professional excellence, accountability, and collaborative practice.

Work closely with senior leaders, elected members, partner agencies, and external regulators to influence policy, drive safeguarding standards, and ensure compliance.

Oversee complex casework, quality assurance, and performance management systems to maintain service quality, risk management, and safeguarding outcomes.

Champion workforce development, staff wellbeing, and inclusion, providing clear vision and direction to motivate and retain a skilled safeguarding workforce.
