Occupational Therapists – Band 6

 

Job Overview

We are recruiting experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDDH). These locum positions involve working across MSK and inpatient wards, supporting both orthopaedic and medical patients within an acute hospital setting.  

 

You’ll play a key role in assessing patients’ functional abilities, promoting independence, and facilitating safe and effective discharges from hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

 

Key Responsibilities

– Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for patients across orthopaedic and medical wards.  

– Conduct comprehensive functional assessments, including ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), mobility, and home environment evaluations.  

– Develop, implement, and monitor individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.  

– Support hospital discharge planning, ensuring patients are safely and appropriately discharged with necessary equipment and community support.  

– Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.  

– Contribute to admission prevention and rehabilitation planning to optimise patient outcomes.  

– Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS and professional standards.
