Join Durham County Council’s Children’s Services as a Qualified Social Worker, delivering high-quality support to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people, and their families.

Undertake statutory responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 and related legislation, including child protection enquiries, assessments, and care planning.

Manage a diverse caseload, working with children in need, those subject to child protection plans, and those in care proceedings or looked-after arrangements.

Apply a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all assessments and decisions.

Work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, health services, police, and other partners to provide coordinated, multi-agency interventions.
