Provide leadership and operational management to a team of social workers and practitioners, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice that meets statutory responsibilities and local priorities.

Oversee the delivery of assessments, care planning, and interventions, ensuring work is timely, evidence-based, and focused on improving outcomes for children and families across CIN, CP, and LAC pathways.

Monitor team performance and compliance, using quality assurance tools to track progress, address practice issues, and ensure adherence to Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council policies and national legislation.

Offer regular reflective supervision, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a learning culture, professional development, and emotional resilience within the team.

Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to ensure coordinated safeguarding responses, effective early help, and smooth transitions for children and young people.

Contribute to service development and strategic planning, supporting continuous improvement, innovation, and positive inspection outcomes for Children’s Services.
