Lead on high-risk, complex cases involving Child Protection, Looked After Children, care proceedings, and safeguarding investigations, applying advanced knowledge of legislation and best practice.

Provide practice leadership and expert guidance to social workers and newly qualified staff, promoting reflective supervision, quality decision-making, and professional development.

Oversee and support the completion of comprehensive assessments and outcome-focused care plans, ensuring that the child’s voice is central and statutory responsibilities are met.

Quality-assure casework, including reports for court, child protection conferences, and statutory reviews, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to policy and legal standards.

Promote and lead multi-agency working, building strong partnerships with professionals across health, education, and the voluntary sector to ensure coordinated support for children and families.

Contribute to service development, audits, and improvement initiatives, sharing expertise and helping embed a culture of continuous learning and high-quality practice.
