Introduction:
Cornwall Council is seeking committed and compassionate Adult Social Workers to join our adult social care teams. You will work with adults who have care and support needs—supporting independence, dignity, and well-being through strength-based practice. We offer a supportive, progressive work environment, with a strong emphasis on development and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake strengths-based assessments and care planning for adults with physical, mental health, or learning disabilities, in line with the Care Act 2014.

  • Carry out safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 and support risk management strategies in partnership with service users and agencies.

  • Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, and community organisations to deliver personalised, integrated support.

  • Promote independence and self-determination, supporting access to services such as direct payments, reablement, and assistive technology.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration to Social Work England

  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant health and social care legislation

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work autonomously within a supportive team

  • Excellent communication, assessment, and safeguarding skills
