Speech and Language Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

Location: Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Area: North West NHS

Rate: £Negotiable

About the Role

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the acute adult service. This role is based on the acute wards and focuses on delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and treatment to adult inpatients on acute wards.
  • Undertake comprehensive dysphagia assessments and management for adult patients.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Proven experience in adult dysphagia management (essential).
  • Experience working within an acute hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and MDT working skills.
  • Ability to manage an independent caseload.

Working Hours

  • Full time: 37.5 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
  • Flexible working considered.
  • Part-time hours may be considered.
