Peterborough City Council is looking to appoint a Qualified Social Worker to undertake statutory responsibilities within either the Children’s or Adults’ Social Care services. The successful candidate will work in accordance with legislation such as the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and associated statutory guidance, to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children or adults.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry a caseload and conduct assessments under statutory frameworks (e.g., Section 17, 47, or Care Act assessments).

Develop, review, and implement support or care plans that are outcome-focused and legally compliant.

Lead on safeguarding enquiries and participate in multi-agency case conferences, reviews, or court proceedings.

Build effective relationships with service users, families, carers, and professionals to ensure needs-led intervention.

Maintain timely and high-quality case recording, reports, and documentation in line with policy and statutory requirements.
