Job Details
Speech and Language Therapist required to provide assessment and rehabilitation for adults following stroke, both on discharge from hospital and for those living long term with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
-
- Assess and rehabilitate adults following stroke.
- Manage a caseload of patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide specialist intervention for aphasia, apraxia of speech, cognitive communication disorder (CCD) and dysphagia.
- Work autonomously within the community as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to person-centred rehabilitation plans to maximise recovery and independence.
Skills & Experience
-
- Relevant experience in stroke and neurological rehabilitation.
- Experience working with aphasia, apraxia of speech, CCD and dysphagia.
- Dysphagia training is highly desirable.
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.
