Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Locum)

About the Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the busy inpatient respiratory, surgical, and medical team at Northwick Park Hospital. This locum role offers an immediate start for an initial 13-week period, with potential for extension. You will be part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment providing high-quality physiotherapy care to acutely unwell patients.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients within acute medical, surgical, and respiratory wards.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care aimed at optimising patient function, mobility, and recovery.
  • Utilise acute and specialist respiratory skills to manage complex cases, including chest clearance and weaning support.
  • Contribute to effective discharge planning, liaising closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure timely and safe patient discharges.
  • Support service delivery within critical care/ITU when required.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and documentation in line with NHS and CSP standards.

 

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Previous NHS experience, ideally within acute hospital or respiratory settings.
  • Strong skills in acute medicine, respiratory care, and discharge planning.
  • Experience within critical care or ITU settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
