Job Overview
We are recruiting a motivated and professional Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient Therapies NWS Team at Central Surrey Health – Woking Community Hospital. This locum role focuses on delivering high-quality inpatient rehabilitation services, supporting patients to regain independence, confidence, and functional ability following illness, injury, or surgery. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing effective therapy interventions within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities

- Undertake comprehensive assessments of inpatients to identify rehabilitation needs, functional limitations, and discharge goals.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans that promote independence and recovery.
- Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated care and smooth discharge planning.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adapting therapy plans in response to changes in condition and feedback.
- Provide advice on equipment, mobility aids, and home adaptations to support safe discharge and ongoing independence.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure all interventions align with NHS and Central Surrey Health policies.

You are an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist with a solid background in inpatient or acute rehabilitation settings. You thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and are committed to delivering person-centred, high-quality care. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills will enable you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a strong focus on patient wellbeing and recovery outcomes.
Requirements

- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, or a similar NHS environment.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of current occupational therapy best practices.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and high clinical standards.
