Occupational Therapist (Locum)

Location: London Borough of Ealing

Area: West London Social Services

Rate: £Negotiable

Contract: Locum, Ongoing

About the Role

The London Borough of Ealing is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Social Care service. This role will support adults with a wide range of physical and functional needs, helping them to maintain independence, safety and wellbeing within their homes and communities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake holistic, person-centred occupational therapy assessments for adults with physical disabilities, long-term conditions or functional limitations.
  • Recommend and arrange the provision of equipment, adaptations and moving & handling solutions to support independence and safety.
  • Develop individualised support plans in line with Care Act responsibilities, focusing on promoting independence and preventing deterioration.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, therapy assistants and wider professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to discharge planning, enabling safe return home from hospital where required.
  • Maintain accurate case records in line with HCPC standards and local authority policies.
  • Provide advice and support to service users, carers and partner agencies.

Requirements

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience within Adult Social Care or community-based OT practice.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment, home adaptations and moving & handling solutions.
  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
