Overview:
This role supports the Lead Clinical Pharmacist across cancer services, providing a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards, chemotherapy day units, and technical services. Responsibilities include screening prescriptions, validating chemotherapy, and ensuring a high standard of care across all relevant clinical areas.
Key Duties:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to cancer services, including the inpatient ward, Chemo Day Unit, and the Day Treatment Unit.
- Contribute to the provision of the chemotherapy preparation service by clinically screening and validating chemotherapy prescriptions and conducting product approval and release in Pharmacy Technical Services.
- Support the Lead Clinical Pharmacist Haematology, Oncology, Palliative Care, and Technical Services in the specialisms of oncology, haematology, and palliative care, ensuring a consistently high-quality clinical pharmacy service is delivered to these patients and other clinical areas that utilise technical services products, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
