Job details: Equipment and Adaptations Team. 2x experienced Occupational Therapists required with experience of working within adult social care. The role is a short term contract of 6 months with the Equipment and Adaptations Team. Following the national MHRA alert notification around bed lever safety, a review of all in situ bed levers is required to ensure that they are still fit for purpose and used safely, The OTs role would be to carry out a full review of each person who has a bed lever provided prior to June 2024.
A full Occupational Therapy assessment/Review will be required for each case – there is also the expectation for the following –
- If the person identified for review also has a package of care in place – the OT will review the Package of Care and liaise with neighbourhood teams following this review.
- If the person is on the current EAAT waiting list for assessment – the OT will complete a full assessment and carryout any required recommendations following this assessment
- If any moving and handling needs are identified, the OT will complete a full moving and handling assessment and make suitable recommendations and provide the person with a moving and handling plan.
- A review of any adaptations completed following the previous OT involvement.
The candidate would be expected to do all assessments face to face. Hybrid working is available.
