We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join the healthcare team at HMP Isle of Wight. This role involves delivering high-quality mental health care to individuals within the prison setting, supporting their psychological well-being, and managing a range of complex mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist mental health assessments, interventions, and risk management plans.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.
- Support individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions, including severe and enduring illnesses.
- Administer medication and manage care plans in accordance with best practices.
- Offer crisis intervention and therapeutic support.
- Liaise with prison staff, external agencies, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration.
- Experience working in mental health services, preferably in secure or prison settings.
- Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Enhanced DBS clearance and prison security clearance (or willingness to obtain).
