Job Title: Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist

Contract Length: Ongoing
Job details: Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist required for the Minor Aids & Adaptations Team. The role involves supervising 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants and managing a small caseload of complex cases within a fast-paced service aiming to turn around cases within 15 working days. JD available on request.
- Promote strengths-based practice and positive change using occupational therapy methods, models and tools to maximise independence and wellbeing
- Carry out needs-led assessments in line with Care Act guidance for residents and their carers
- Provide an Occupational Therapy service to physically disabled individuals and those with complex and multiple disabilities, including mental health conditions
- Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated and effective interventions
- Make professional judgements within relevant legal and policy frameworks
- Plan and implement interventions using the full range of available resources to support independence
- Prevent or delay the development of care and support needs and reduce existing needs where possible
- Apply specialist OT knowledge to ensure cost-effective and efficient long-term care solutions
- Consider and assess carers’ needs and address eligible needs appropriately
- Provide supervision and professional oversight to 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Manage a small caseload of complex cases within agreed performance targets
Skills/Experience: HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with previous supervisory experience. Experience within minor aids and adaptations, adult social care, and working in a fast-paced environment essential.
Working hours: Full time.
