Wirral Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Locum Adult Social Worker to join their Adults Services team on a 3-month contract. This role involves assessing and supporting adults with a range of care and support needs, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and promoting independence within the community. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in adult social care and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine adults’ care and support needs and develop personalised care plans.

  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries and manage risks in line with statutory guidance and Wirral Council policies.

  • Work collaboratively with health, housing, and community partners to coordinate effective support.

  • Review and monitor care plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

  • Provide advocacy and advice to service users and their families.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records in accordance with local and statutory requirements.
