West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children with disabilities, conducting thorough assessments, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of children in the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform detailed assessments of children’s needs, risks, and strengths to develop effective care plans.
- Collaborate with Multi-Disciplinary Teams: Work closely with other professionals, including healthcare providers, educators, and law enforcement, to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare.
- Provide Support and Advocacy: Offer guidance and support to children with disabilities and their families, advocating for their needs and ensuring access to necessary services.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of all assessments, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Stay Informed on Best Practices: Continuously update knowledge on child welfare policies, procedures, and best practices to provide the highest standard of care.
