Milton Keynes Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our dynamic Children’s Services team. As a key member of our service, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families within the Milton Keynes area. This role will enable you to provide high-quality support and intervention while ensuring that vulnerable children receive the care and protection they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Protection & Safeguarding: Conduct thorough assessments and implement safeguarding plans to protect children at risk, ensuring compliance with Milton Keynes’ child protection policies and statutory guidance.

  • Care Planning & Reviews: Lead the development of child-centred care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to meet the changing needs of children and their families.

  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with schools, health services, and other community agencies to provide holistic support and ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.

  • Court Work & Legal Proceedings: Prepare detailed reports for court hearings, including care proceedings, child protection conferences, and other legal processes, advocating for the best interests of the child.

  • Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of children and families, ensuring that interventions are timely, appropriate, and consistent with statutory requirements and best practice.

  • Supervision & Professional Growth: Participate in regular supervision and ongoing training to maintain a high standard of social work practice, ensuring continuous professional development and a commitment to reflective practice.
