CHOC Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Locum)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated Band 6 CHOC Physiotherapist to join the Macclesfield Care Community within the North West NHS. This locum role sits within community services, supporting adults with a range of rehabilitation and functional needs. You will work independently across community settings, delivering high-quality physiotherapy interventions that promote mobility, safety, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

•  
• Provide physiotherapy assessment and intervention for adults within community settings as part of the CHOC service.
   

• Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans aimed at improving functional ability, mobility, and overall wellbeing.
   

• Work independently across a community caseload, prioritising clinical needs and managing time effectively.
   

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues including occupational therapists, nurses, GPs, and social care staff to ensure coordinated and holistic support.
   

• Monitor progress, adapt treatment plans as required, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
   

• Support safe and effective discharge planning and onward referrals where needed.

About You

You are an organised and proactive Physiotherapist with experience working in community environments or similar clinical settings. You’ll be comfortable working autonomously, confident managing a diverse caseload, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation. Your strong communication and problem-solving skills will help you provide effective care in fast-paced community services.

Requirements

•  
• Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
   

• Previous NHS experience, ideally within community or rehabilitation services.
   

• Ability to manage a community caseload safely and independently.
   

• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
   

• Excellent communication and collaborative working abilities.
   

• Flexibility to work shift patterns as required.
