Physiotherapist – Band 6 (Locum)

About the Role
East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Referral and Assessment Team (RAT) serving Newham residents. This short-term locum role involves delivering high-quality, community-based physiotherapy aimed at promoting independence, wellbeing and safe, effective care management.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a wide range of high-quality physiotherapy interventions to patients referred to the Referral and Assessment Team.
- Offer meaningful choices to patients that promote independence and maximise health and wellbeing.
- Undertake comprehensive case management, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and discharge arrangements, in collaboration with the Professional Lead.
- Take responsibility for the care of patients on the RAT caseload and oversee the care delivered by the wider team.
- Ensure high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in patients’ homes or residential care settings, making effective use of available resources.
- Collaborate and liaise with the wider Newham multidisciplinary team to support coordinated care pathways.
Service Information
- The service operates 7 days a week.
- AHP service hours: 09:00 – 17:00.
- Nursing hours: 08:00 – 20:00.
Requirements
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist.
- Experience providing physiotherapy in community or rapid response settings.
- Strong assessment, care management and clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly within a 7-day service model.
Working Hours
- Full-time, within AHP service hours (09:00 – 17:00).
