We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Connect Team Triage Service at Enfield Council, within North London Social Services. This locum role is community-based with an element of hybrid working and focuses on managing urgent cases through triage, assessment, and support planning. Moving and handling is a key part of the post, including home visits for assessment and follow-up. You will play a vital role in delivering timely, responsive occupational therapy interventions that promote independence and reduce risk for adults in the community.

Key Responsibilities

    • Undertake community-based occupational therapy assessments and follow-up visits.

    • Complete moving and handling assessments and provide safe, practical recommendations to support independence.

    • Make effective use of local authority, departmental, and independent resources to meet assessed needs.

    • Maintain high standards of professional practice within your own caseload and workload management.

    • Use advanced clinical skills and specialist knowledge to promote independence, choice, and control for service users.

    • Contribute to the ongoing development of service provision through specialist practice.

    • Ensure all work is carried out within a quality and equalities framework, in line with Council policies, performance targets, and professional standards.

    About You

You are an experienced and confident Occupational Therapist with a strong background in adult social care and community-based practice. You will have excellent assessment, triage, and decision-making skills, along with solid experience in moving and handling. You are organised, responsive, and able to work effectively in fast-paced environments where managing urgent demand is essential. Your collaborative approach and commitment to high professional standards will support positive outcomes for residents.

    Requirements

      • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

      • Significant post-qualification experience within adult social care or community occupational therapy services.

      • Strong experience in moving and handling assessments and risk management.

      • Experience of urgent triage, assessment, and short-term intervention work.

      • Excellent communication, documentation, and organisational skills.

      • Ability to work autonomously in a community and hybrid working model.

      • Contract Length: Ongoing

      • Working Hours: 35 hours per week (09:00 – 17:30)
