Reablement Enabler (Part-Time) – London Borough of Islington
Job Overview
We’re recruiting for a **Reablement Enabler** to join the **London Borough of Islington’s Adult Social Services team** in **North London**. This locum position focuses on supporting individuals in their own homes, helping them regain independence following illness, injury, or a hospital stay. You’ll play a key role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care that promotes recovery and confidence in daily living.
Key Responsibilities
– Deliver personalised care and support in line with each individual’s reablement plan. – Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, domestic tasks, and exercise programmes developed by therapists. – Encourage and motivate service users to take an active role in their rehabilitation and independence. – Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, and social workers to ensure coordinated care. – Monitor progress and communicate observations to the Reablement Senior Enabler or Coordinator. – Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided. – Uphold safeguarding, dignity, and respect in all aspects of service delivery.
About You
You’re passionate about helping people live independently and enjoy supporting others to achieve personal goals. You’ll bring empathy, patience, and strong communication skills, as well as the ability to follow structured care and therapy plans. Experience working in community care, reablement, or rehabilitation settings will be highly valued.
Requirements
– Previous experience in reablement, domiciliary, or community care. – Understanding of person-centred and strength-based approaches. – Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. – Commitment to maintaining professional standards and safeguarding practices. – Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one). – Flexibility to work part-time hours (Monday–Friday, 16:00–21:00).
Contract & Salary
– **Job type:** Locum (ongoing contract) – **Hours:** 25 hours per week (16:00–21:00) – **Location:** London Borough of Islington, North London – **Pay rate:** £24.90 per hour (negotiable depending on experience) – **Reporting to:** Reablement Senior Enabler / Coordinator
