View JobBCP Council is seeking an experienced Locum Social Worker to join the Care Proceedings Team. This role involves managing complex cases that are progressing through the family courts, ensuring children’s welfare is prioritised and legal processes are robustly supported. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of statutory responsibilities, court work, and safeguarding legislation.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of children involved in care proceedings under the Public Law Outline (PLO) and Children Act 1989.

Prepare high-quality court statements, care plans, chronologies, and give evidence in court.

Work closely with legal teams, guardians, and multi-agency professionals throughout proceedings.

Contribute to legal gateway meetings, permanency planning, and case discussions.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with court timelines and statutory requirements.
