Job Overview
We are recruiting a committed **Social Work Assistant** to join the **Bromley Council Children’s Services team**. This role is focused on supporting qualified social workers in delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and families.
As a Social Work Assistant, you will provide practical support, assist with casework, and work directly with children and families to help improve outcomes and ensure safe, effective interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Support qualified social workers in managing caseloads and delivering services.
Assist with statutory visits, assessments, and reviews.
Work directly with children, young people, and families to provide practical support and guidance.
Contribute to the development and monitoring of care and support plans.
Liaise with schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to ensure effective joined-up working.
Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with Bromley Council policies and procedures.
Provide administrative support to the team, including preparing reports and documents as required.
Support safeguarding processes by escalating concerns to qualified staff.
About You
You are a motivated and organised professional with a passion for working with children and families. You have strong communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable children in achieving positive outcomes.
Requirements
Experience of working with children, young people, or families in a social care, education, or community setting.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and children’s services.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate case records and handle sensitive information appropriately.
A relevant qualification in social care or a related field is desirable but not essential.
