entral Bedfordshire Council is seeking a confident and experienced Senior Practitioner to join its Children’s Social Care team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality social work support while mentoring junior staff and contributing to improved outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex caseloads involving Child Protection, Children in Need, and Looked After Children.

  • Provide reflective supervision and mentoring to less experienced social workers within the team.

  • Lead and support strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and legal planning meetings.

  • Ensure the delivery of outcome-focused assessments and care plans that meet statutory requirements.

  • Liaise effectively with families, partner agencies, and legal representatives to achieve timely interventions.

  • Contribute to service improvement through quality assurance, audits, and promoting best practice standards.

Requirements: Social Work England (SWE) registration, right to work in the UK, and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in statutory children’s services, including recent experience in a Senior Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner role.
