East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Qualified Social Worker to join their Child Protection team. The successful candidate will work with children and families to safeguard and promote their welfare, undertaking statutory responsibilities in line with the Children Act and Working Together guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake child protection investigations, risk assessments, and manage safeguarding plans in line with statutory requirements.

  • Prepare and present court reports, attend court proceedings, and work collaboratively with legal services.

  • Complete initial and core assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and Child Protection Conferences.

  • Develop and maintain effective multi-agency working relationships to achieve best outcomes for children and families.

  • Participate in regular supervision and contribute to team meetings, supporting the team’s continuous improvement and learning.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records on the council’s electronic case management system (Liquidlogic).

Requirements: SWE registration, right to work in the UK, and at least 2–3 years’ experience in statutory children’s services, particularly within child protection.
