Join Knowsley Council’s dedicated Children’s Social Care team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. As a Social Worker in the CP and CIN teams, you will work in a supportive environment that values professional development, reflective practice, and strong multi-agency collaboration. You’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding children, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention under Child in Need and Child Protection plans, ensuring timely assessments and reviews.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and contribute to strategy discussions, core groups, and case conferences to safeguard children at risk of significant harm.
  • Develop and implement care plans that are child-focused, evidence-based, and outcome-driven, in collaboration with families and partner agencies.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings and attend court as required, ensuring all documentation meets legal and procedural standards.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to provide holistic support and improve outcomes for children.
  • Engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development through Knowsley’s Social Work Academy, promoting reflective practice and resilience.
