Take the lead on complex and high-risk cases for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, including Child Protection, Looked After Children, and care proceedings, ensuring best practice and statutory compliance.

Provide advanced professional support, mentoring, and informal supervision to social workers and students, promoting a learning culture and high standards of reflective practice.

Undertake and oversee robust assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans that prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and voice of the child.

Prepare and quality-assure high-level reports for court, child protection conferences, and reviews, ensuring they are evidence-based and meet legal expectations.

Act as a practice lead within the team, contributing to service improvement, innovation, and the implementation of Stoke-on-Trent’s children’s social care priorities.

Work closely with multi-agency professionals to coordinate complex safeguarding responses and deliver effective interventions for children and families in need.
