We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Best Interests Assessor (BIA) to undertake Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) assessments. The role involves ensuring decisions about care and treatment are made lawfully, ethically, and in the best interests of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct DoLS assessments: Carry out Best Interests Assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated guidance.

Make informed decisions: Assess whether a deprivation of liberty is necessary, proportionate, and in the person’s best interests.

Liaise with professionals: Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, care settings, advocates, and families.

Produce clear reports: Prepare detailed and legally compliant reports for supervisory bodies and authorisation panels.
