Job Details: Physiotherapist required for 12 weeks (or longer) working with the Community Learning Disabilities Team (CLDT) Physiotherapy Dept in Shropshire. This is a community-based role where the post holder will work across a variety of settings from home visits to day services and respite, and various community-bases. The team receives referrals for, but not exclusively, falls, deteriorating mobility and posture assessments. Therefore, this role will include falls, mobility and posture assessments for complex patients which can lead to providing interventions including exercise programmes, sleep systems and standing frames. Due to the nature of working with patients with learning disabilities, there are occasions where work is completed in best interests; experience of gaining consent and making best interest decisions would be favourable. The role would lend itself to someone who has previous experience with learning disabilities, or transferrable skills from working with a variety of neurological, MSK and respiratory based teams. JD available on request:
- To provide a highly specialist Physiotherapy Service to adults with complex learning and physical disabilities, undertaking clinical diagnosis, assessment and physiotherapeutic management and interventions.
- To deliver a high standard of care using a holistic, person-centred approach on a daily basis and providing clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to members of the multi-disciplinary team
Working hours: Part time. 3 days per week.
